Who We Are

Firmly modern, underpinned by waves of nostalgia. Sonny Eastman Photography is the visual collaboration of Elizabeth and James, San Francisco-Bay Area film photographers specializing in environmental portraiture and weddings. Our work offers a glimpse into the unspoken interplay between our subjects’ inner worlds and external lives.

We’re focused on the liminal moments; the breath between the gesture. Our aim is to document your story by prioritizing natural, unposed interactions and subtle emotions that truly define your connection. We don't bring a rigid plan. We work by trusting the moment, giving you space to engage naturally. If you need it, we offer simple, soft direction, but we always prioritize authenticity over expectation. While we value crafting a few stunning, classic portraits, we also love experimenting, often using film to bring an unexpected, raw texture to the collection. Our final goal is to deliver emotive images that feel like an artful interpretation of your unique relationship.
